(*Special note to 873 members at the end of this message, please read through)

Thank you to all who have signed this petition. As you well may be aware, the current Section 21 back to work agreement has been extended, taking affect Jan 16. The language in this agreement gives productions free reign to implement mandatory vaccination policies and indeed, as we are learning, to define "vaccinated" however they see fit, with some productions not recognizing double vaxxed individuals' status if the two doses received  are not of the same product (a common occurrence in Ontario)and some productions now even  *requiring* boosters.

Accordingly, this petition will be closed and forwarded to the members of the Section 21 committee and boards of the respective unions by the end of this week. If you have not done so yet, please make every effort to share this petition so we can have the maximum impact.

IATSE873 members:

There is a general membership meeting This coming Sunday, January 16th, to be held via Zoom. If you want to take concrete action against vaccine mandates in our industry, it is critical you attend this meeting and be prepared to voice your opinion AND VOTE. We need to compel our union to do it's duty and protect our rights. There will likely be a motion put forward to, at a minimum, halt 873 compliance with vaccination policies until proper discussion and a vote by the membership. Please make sure you are current on your dues and have registered to receive the Zoom link to attend the meeting (once you're logged in- top right hand corner "Pay Dues Now", under "Notices and Alerts"-General Membership Meeting) So that you can stand and be counted. The importance of passing this motion is absolutely critical to our future.

In solidarity-

M.
