This video clarifies how pickleball sounds to anyone nearby - and in this case, imagine the Community Center, tennis courts, townhomes in Blue Heron, Egret Trace and Spoonbill - and heading into Sandpiper Cove. Don't think it doesn't apply to you if you are farther afield. With all low-rise buildings and open spaces of golf course - there is nothing to stop the sound from traveling. The red circle is a 500 foot radius.

Does it affect you? Moreover - do you want anyone in your neighborhood to be living like this?? How about the tranquility of our natural surroundings?

We are living 1/4 mile from the beach, and we purchased here in Aquarina so we can hear the ocean waves and the breeze. NOT this.

"Pickleball sound exists right in the most sensitive range. A frequency around a C6 in music and the same as garbage truck backup beepers are right in the same pitch of pickleball. Why did they pick that sound for beepers? Because it's the most annoying frequency." According to Bob Unetich who has created a company specializing in Pickleball Sound Mitigation. "You can't take pop, pop, pop for 12 hours a day every day and remain sane."

“The number of noise events (NNE) matters more than any average measure of noise. Nine hundred impulsive noise events an hour, per court, each causing a physiological response, is the problem.”  --- Daniel Fink, MD, MBA, Board-certified internist, and medical management expert. So it isn't just the noise level, or the frequency of the sound but also the number of POPs.

And what about the water birds living and nesting on the ponds in these areas?

The more you know, the more this needs to be thoroughly reviewed.

I was told today that this isn't in the budget YET. But the agenda item on Thursday's meetings says they are reviewing the draft 2025 budget. It will take time for these issues to be investigated and thoughfully reviewed. There should be no rush to put this on the budget for 2025. Please urge our ACSA board members to budget for reviewing these plans - NOT for implementing them in 2025.
