Learn how to make falafel ... meet one of our wine growers over from Burgundy and taste her wines ...  listen to some of the great musicians -- jazz, classical, zydeco -- you know from HIghgate and Queens Park ... buy our exclusive merchandise (personalised French crockery, T shirts) ... DJs, cakes, outdoor games ...

It's all for a good cause. Your wonderful support has got our legal claim into the High Court which will rule shortly on permission to refer the City's park cafés award to Judicial Review. We have the best possible legal team, Gretta Schumacher, Remi Reichold, Leigh Day solicitors, giving their time and expertise either free or at cost. But we need to keep putting money in the bank.

It feels as if it's been going on forever, but this is why we are still fighting. The City's North London cafés, on the Heath and at Highgate Wood and Queens Park,  give these open spaces a different and more welcoming feel than the Royal Park, where all the cafés belong to a big chain.

Throughout London, pubs, cafés and restaurants are turning into investor's cash cows and losing their soul. We believe local ownership keeps places real, keeps prices down and responds to local character. You don't want big money to win out, which is why you signed the petition. Please come along on June 20 -- we will price the event so it's available to all -- and make sure we have the financial firepower to continue to fight back.
