We’ve officially reached 171 signatures on our petition to bring healthy relationship education into schools! Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and supported something that means so much to me. 💜

The girl on the left would have never believed that one day she’d be the woman on the right.

She wouldn’t have believed she’d be able to smile without fear of upsetting a man. That she’d be able to laugh as loud as she wanted, go wherever she pleased, wear whatever she wanted, and simply live without worrying about someone else’s reaction.

She wouldn’t have believed that love could be peaceful. That disagreements didn’t have to turn into screaming, that jealousy wasn’t proof of love, and that she didn’t have to walk on eggshells to keep someone happy.

And she certainly wouldn’t have believed that one day she’d marry a man who would spend years helping her heal from wounds he never caused.

That girl was only a teenager. She didn’t know the difference between being loved and being controlled. She thought loving someone meant enduring whatever came with it.

And THAT is why this petition matters to me.

I can’t go back and teach that little girl what a healthy relationship should look like. But I can fight to make sure the next generation has the education and tools I didn’t have.

171 signatures means 171 people believe our teenagers deserve better. Let’s keep that number growing!
