We’ve reached 350+ signatures in just over a week!

Thank you to everyone who has signed, commented and shared their experiences. Every voice helps bring more attention to this issue, and I’m so grateful to see this community growing.
Many of you have asked what else you can do to help turn this petition into meaningful change. Here are a few small but important steps:
✍️ Sign the petition if you haven’t already. Every signature helps show how much this matters to families.
🏫 Start local. Talk to your child’s educators or school administration about screen use during lunch and snack time. These conversations can help raise awareness at the school level.
📧 Email your DDSB trustee — this one really matters. Petitions help show public support, but directly contacting the people responsible for school board decisions helps bring that support to the attention of decision-makers. Ask your regional trustee to advocate for urgent policy action to make lunch and snack times screen-free. If you can, also include Board Chair Tracy Brown and Vice Chair Deb Oldfield in your email.
It takes a little more time to find the right contacts and write a message, but even a short, personal email can help demonstrate that families want action. Please consider making this a priority.
Find your trustee and their contact information on the DDSB Board of Trustees page.
📝 Share your experience. Complete our short survey to help us document how screens are being used in schools and build a stronger case for change.
📣 Share the petition. Send it to another parent, friend or family member who cares about kids having more opportunities to connect at school. You can also find us on Instagram at @letlittleslunch.
You don’t have to do everything. Pick one step that feels manageable and start there. If you have a little extra time, please consider emailing your trustee — it’s an important way to help turn our collective concern into action.
Thank you for being part of this. The more families who speak up, the harder it is to ignore.
