Petition updateRequire GP, School and Access Impact Studies Before Approval of the Greystoke Development,Campaign Update: 215 Signatures and Growing — Here's What's Happening Behind the Scenes

Since the safeguarding update last week, 65 new people have signed. Thank you. That tells me this concern is resonating — and it should be.

Here's where things stand:

Local residents' associations are now engaged. Established community organisations in the area have confirmed they will formally review and respond to the planning application when it's submitted. Their Conservation Panel will assess the proposals, and information about the development has been shared through local newsletters and community groups. These are organisations with decades of experience scrutinising planning applications in this area.

The safeguarding question remains unanswered. I have written to Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls — the all-girls secondary school with 1,400 students on Queen's Drive, just 350 metres from the proposed site — asking whether they were consulted about the development and whether they share the concerns about six-storey buildings overlooking their playgrounds and classrooms. The school is currently on half term. I expect to hear back next week.

The formal planning application is expected in March. When it lands, Ealing Council will open a public comments period. Every comment submitted individually carries weight — and the number of signatures on this petition demonstrates the scale of community concern backing those comments up.

We're at 215. We need 500 before March.

If you've already signed — thank you. Now I need your help with one thing: share this petition with two people. A neighbour, a parent at a local school, someone on your street. If every person who has signed shares it with just two others, we pass 500 this week.

This isn't about stopping homes being built. It's about making sure 190 homes don't get approved without proper answers to basic questions about GP capacity, school places, traffic safety, and the safeguarding of 1,400 schoolgirls.

The planning application is weeks away. This is the window.
