Campaign Update: We Have Reached 67 Signatures
Thank you to every person who has signed and shared the petition calling for fair disability and insurance recognition for Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and fibromyalgia.
We have now reached 67 signatures. I have also sent our first formal communication to Representative Aisha Wahab’s office, requesting that the petition be reviewed and asking for guidance, a meeting, and legislative support.
This is an important beginning, but a petition alone does not create an enforceable law. To move this campaign forward, we need:
More people to sign and share the petition.
Disability organizations to formally endorse the campaign.
Medical professionals and FND or fibromyalgia specialists to support fair evaluation standards.
People affected by these conditions to share their experiences, if they feel comfortable doing so.
Members of Congress willing to sponsor legislation.
Continued outreach to the Social Security Administration, Department of Labor, health agencies, and insurance regulators.
Our goal is not automatic approval based only on a diagnosis. We are asking for fair, consistent, and medically informed decisions based on credible evidence, documented functional limitations, and whether a person can function safely, reliably, and consistently.
