That's right, if passed and signed by the president, Kari's Law will not be in effect for 2 years. Why? To give companies time to learn about the law (that's where we come in) and make the necessary changes to their phone systems. Initially the wait period was FIVE years but we finally were able to chip it down to two. We have a lot to do! I will be going to Athens,Texas next Monday and Tuesday to attend and speak to a Victims Services Conference and October 17th we will be in Aransas Pass, Texas touring the PSAP there and thanking the Police Chief and three officers for their work in ensuring that the city of Aransas Pass and local businesses were informed and complied with the new law by testing their systems.
