Including 911. I get emotional and pumped up when 911 doesn't work and I tend to blame inanimate objects for the downfall of "technology". What I should concentrate on is the fact that technology does work, it really does. From cell phones to the internet to VoIP systems to the toaster on your counter. Technology works. As with anything, sometimes it breaks but in the majority of cases it's caused by - people. Cut cables, bad designs, bad deployment of those systems and more than likely, laziness when setting the systems up. It's imperative that owners of MLTS systems have the very programming it may need in an emergency. Ignorance of or just plain ignoring proper operational and safety programming is the culprit, (think people). It DOES NOT cost 1000's of dollars with today's technology. These service companies telling MLTS owners it will cost thousands of dollars to make their systems "Kari's Law" compliant should fold up shop and start sacking groceries. They will serve the public better in that role.
