I am so amazed by all of you and appreciate everything you have done for this cause!

However, I need help, but first an update!

While the bill has passed the Senate, it appears it will not be taken up by the house until the next legislative session, which could be good and bad! This does mean we will need to convince KSHSAA!

I must be honest I am in over my head! I never realized this would get the traction it has. Coaches, Administrators, Students, Parents, Grandparents, have signed this, Petion. I have realized this is more than just about Faith, but this is about the freedoms for our students to choose and not be pressured by Coaches, Admins, and even their own parents living through them.

In a time, our teens are facing Social and Emotion Psychological Struggles, Developmental Psychology is key with our teens. They need the freedom to choose without the pressures of competing for scholarships, awards, and community expectations.

I am not sure where to go from here, other than to get as many people to show up to testify to KSHSAA on the importance of this matter. If you are willing and able, please plan to show your support on April 23, 2026, the meeting will be held at 601 SW Commerce Place in Topeka. You are allotted 3min and must register with the clerk prior to 3pm.

I have had many questions about those of no Faith at all, while this may have started as Faith issue, it has developed far more into that. Our teens have so much pressure for activities and athletics because they do not have the freedom to choose, through this we are giving them this option. Of course they can still go be athletes, just like the movie Sandlot, what happened to the fun of the sport, but right now they don't even have those freedoms. Not everything needs to be a competition. Which leads me into another point, Club Sports, the maximum-security prison of the freedoms of our teens.

These types of freedoms are completely regulated by the parents and the student! They have the freedom of choice in these sports, it puts the ownership back on the students, parents, and Coach. KSHSAA and the way they are scheduled does not! State Championships, awards through the state are not the same as Club Sports, the pressures added are different. Club sports have more freedom of choice than the great state of Kansas and the schools they attend. The pressures from Club sports are from the parent and athlete, these are freedoms they can choose.

If you are willing to help with this cause, I would be anxious for your help, like I said I am in over my head, which only proves this is important to Kanzans.

Please continue to share, post and push this out, the more signatures we have strengthens our cause.

As a former high school and college athlete I understand both sides, but freedom for our students is ultimately what will help them psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, and be the best athlete they can be! You cant force a athlete to be a Pro but you can encourage them by making that choice!
