Petition updateWestern Highway cheaper, safer, sooner:A Well Considered Response to Misinformation.

This communication from Jacinta Allan's office continues to peddle the same misinformation, clearly fed to her by MRPV, who are desperate to cover the litany of errors in the VicRoads EES process.

A couple of points to consider-

1. The accident statistics are deliberately inflated to induce a sense of panic in the readers, and is sufficiently vague in its' time scale to appear plausible.

2.The Registered Aboriginal Party Martang P/L do not represent the local Djab Wurrung people, and neither do East Maar Aboriginal Corporation. This has been well documented but continues to be ignored.

3. Major Road Projects Victoria has not consulted with the local community in over 12 months. The last proposed Environmental Consultation Group meeting was cancelled when the Djab Wurrung people established their tent embassy at Dobie.

It is clear that the Minister for Transport Infrastructure continues to be misled, and the only way forward for this project is for the Premier to intervene.

I am a member of an incorporated group of local residents who have been watching this process with increasing frustration for 4 1/2 years, with little progress to show, and many questionable practices being uncovered in the government departments involved. This can be sorted by genuine independent consultation rather than through a protracted legal process.

We also share the desire to have the highway duplicated, but know that it can be done, cheaper, quicker and with much less destruction. This is our backyard, and we care deeply about how it is developed.
