The Issue

n October 15th 2017 the Ministry of Justice announced that tougher sentences for Drivers who kill whilst under the influence of Drink/drugs, Speeding, Racing or using Mobile phones, will now face sentences form 14 years up to life. They also advised that they would be bringing in a new sentence of imprisonment for Drivers who cause serious injury whilst under the influence of Drink/drugs, Speeding, Racing or using Mobile phones. So far these  sentences are still not being given out by our courts.

I have been led to believe that Westminster still needs to ratify the new sentencing, in the meantime more innocent lives are being lost daily on our roads.

Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my husbands death, due to a drunk driver who incidentally was released from prison after serving approx 2.5 years of his 4.5 year sentence, just last month.

Here I am again pushing for justice for the families who have or will lose a loved one because of these drivers. We need to get tough on drivers drivers who kill they will never learn nor will the next generation of drivers if we dont take a stand now.

I am asking you all to sign my petition to enable me to bring this back into peoples minds. Once you have signed please share or ReTweet we need to raise 100,000 signatures to be heard in parliament.

Many thanks for taking the time to support me and the many other victims left behind serving a life sentence of grief through no fault of their own

Best Regards

Lorraine Allaway
