Governor Ned Lamont held two town hall meetings today in Westport—
The earlier was at the Westport Public Library, the later at the Westport Center for Senior Activities … both about a mile and a half down Imperial Avenue from the site of the development that will define Westport’s next century… the Cribari Bridge.
Governor Lamont and First Selectman Christie presented a united front in resolving the prohibition of trucks from whatever project replaces the bridge…
I asked the Governor to ensure that the process be based on a complete and adequate new Environmental Assessment that—pursuant to the FHWA and ACHP regulations—considers historical impact, long term and cumulative effects, regional traffic patterns, consider suitable modifications and exceptions prior to deciding on a preferred project.
Comments for the public record that must be considered by the Federal Highway Administration and comments directed to the Governor can be filed using links provided by the Westport Alliance for Saugatuck.
