The Bali Police is conducting a criminal investigation into the legality of the Uluwatu Sea Wall project. According to baliexpress.com, the investigation is centered around whether the proper licenses were secured to dredge into the cliff.
Even with an ongoing police investigation crews continue to excavate the cliff and are getting close to reaching sea level.
The police investigation is a positive sign but there is still no mention of an Environmental Impact Assessment being completed before the fragile reef ecosystem is damaged any further.
