She recently was good enough to respond to my enquiry and even admits , its not the responsible operators causing the problem, but yet she obviously supports Interim regulations., which is expected as we all would agree there needs to be guidelines but we know the problem, they are not listening to the responsible drone operators, reason please write to your local MP. This is now our time to respond and act before all of this Dear Mr. Lamoureux, Thank you for writing to me with regard to the Interim Order on drones. I appreciate hearing from constituents. This Interim order, enacted as a matter of public safety, seeks to address the various safety hazards associated with irresponsible drone operation. Central to these concerns is Canada's air space. In 2016, there were 148 drone/airplane incident reports — up from 85 in 2015 and 41 in 2014. Drones operating in close proximity to commercial or private flights run the risk of distracting the pilot, or destroying engines. The consequences of even one such accident would be devastating. For this reason, Minister of Transport Marc Garneau recently implemented an interim order to restrict drone operation in dangerous areas. This order is only a temporary solution. Final regulations will soon be put in place, covering all unmanned aircraft and setting minimum age requirements. Responsible drone users like yourself are not the problem, but unknowledgeable and irresponsible operators pose true danger. The interim regulations will help eliminate risk, and keep Canadian citizens safe. Thank you again for writing to me on this issue.
