Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a small but important update on the project behind this petition.
Following the most recent parish council meeting, the proposed transfer of the Vine Place site to the parish council has now been withdrawn. While that might sound like a setback at first glance, it actually opens up a new and potentially exciting route for the project.
The building we’re hoping to transform - the old toilet block at Vine Place - now appears likely to remain under Cornwall Council ownership. This means we may be able to explore the possibility of using the building/ area directly for the project.
Over the past few days I’ve begun speaking with people who may be able to help move the idea forward, including local councillors and organisations involved in community food and education projects.
The vision remains the same: to create a small community bakehouse that offers free breadmaking and food education for local children and young people, working with schools, home-educated students, Brownies, Scouts and other community groups.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but this development means the idea now has a real path worth exploring.
Thank you all again for supporting the petition and for showing that the community cares about seeing this building used for something positive.
I’ll continue to share updates as things develop.
