Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has been in Washington for 34 years.  Should McCain be reelected in 2016 he will be 86 years-old before he has his next chance to relinquish office and by then he will have amassed four decades under his belt.  Prevent him from becoming the next Sen. Robert Byrd (D) or Strom Thurmond (R) by signing and sharing this petition.  We thank Sen. McCain for his lifelong public service, but the time has undoubtedly come for him to step aside in preparation for a new generation of Republicans, Conservatives and Libertarians.  McCain after all his time holds little serious legislative credentials or imagination.  From his support for the calamitous War in Iraq to the now defunct Campaign Finance Reform (which also aimed at marginalizing conservative talk radio and internet blogs) one must ask what comprehensive philosophy does McCain's "Maverick" policies serve?  It is also what McCain didn't pass, which begs the question: "What has he accomplished to deserve 34 years as Arizona's Senator?"  McCain's efforts in Comprehensive Immigration Reform, improving Veterans Affairs, reducing our dizzying tax code to a "postcard," two bids for the White House, advancing pro-life policies have all failed or been left behind.  While McCain's bellicism in foreign affairs might win him conservative credentials in some corners of Washington, his martial willingness evidently has not made him an effective defender of liberty, Arizona's best interests or his party's standard.  Help stop John McCain's attempt at another futile 6 year term in the U.S. Senate, by signing this petition and sharing it everywhere.
