Middle-wage income earners just like the minimum wage earners are the lifeblood of the industries. These are the rank-and-file and supervisory workers who are running the show behind the curtains.

Most of these middle-wage income earners are earning between 30,000-60,000/month which are subjected to 25-32% income tax. 

Taxes are raised to support basic services. Increasing the buying power of the middle-wage earners will likewise increase spending and stimulate the economy to support the implementation of government programs not only for basic services but for other pro-poor and socio-economic programs a well. 

I call on the Philippine Government, policy makers, stakeholders, community leaders, civil society groups and others to support this initiative.
