A cry for help

For 9 years we fought Fracking and offshore oil and gas exploration in Algarve and Alentejo. The cost was high, both in money terms as well as human terms. We paid the price, BUT WE SUCCEEDED in STOPPING it.

Through ASMAA’s work we WOKE-UP Portugal. We were instrumental in getting over 42000 people to sign petitions, which we then represented in court. Although we were successful, our OWN legal costs landed up with us. Yes, we could have gone back to court, but we could not justify spending more money on legal costs when we had achieved what we set-up to achieve.

While you all feel great because the FRACKING is not an emergency in Algarve and Alentejo and was STOPPED for now! We at ASMAA are dealing with legal arrears and are facing the challenges of paying outstanding debt. We have our backs against the wall.

WE HAVE TO PAY OUR LEGAL TEAM AT LEAST ANOTHER 2000€ by Friday the 10 January. And we don’t have it! We don’t want to be sued, so we are begging you to help us pay this legal bill.  We are down to 214€ in our banking account.

Our legal team has been good to you and to us. They have worked hard to stop the drilling. They are patient and they are giving us an opportunity to pay off the outstanding amount, but we have to meet minimum payments every month. So help us today, so that we can help you again in the future.
