Hi everyone,
First, a massive thank you for the incredible support. Our official e-petition to the House of Representatives is now live with the number EN7828!
I want to quickly clarify why signing this second, official petition is the most powerful thing we can do right now.
How Parliamentary Petitions Work:
Under the rules of Parliament, the relevant Minister (in this case, the Minister for Communications) is expected to provide a formal, written response to every single valid petition, regardless of how many signatures it has.
So why is getting a huge number of signatures so important?
While a response is standard, the quality of that response and the political pressure it creates depends entirely on us. A petition with thousands of signatures is a major political event. It can't be ignored or dismissed with a form letter. It forces the issue onto the national agenda, gets media attention, and puts the Minister on the spot to give a serious, detailed answer.
This is our chance to turn our public support into real political pressure that cannot be ignored.
What I need you to do now:
To make our voices heard in Canberra, I need you to please take two minutes to sign the official e-petition. Because it's a formal process, you'll need to be an Australian citizen or resident and confirm your signature via an email link.
Please sign the official petition here: https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN7828
Let's show them just how many Australians demand a smarter, safer, and more private solution to online safety.
Thank you again for everything.
Cheers, Jarrod
