Today I had the privilege of meeting with Butch Paredes the senior director of auxiliary services and the person in charge of the Bon Apetite contract. The conversation was very fruitful and I for one am very excited about the direction the Caf is headed.
This may come as bad news to many but Bon Apetite is not being removed, at least not yet. However the pressure is on them now. They now know that almost 2,000 people want them gone and I am hopeful that will result in higher quality food.
From the conversation I had with Butch, it is clear that the Caf is on the road to improvement. He was shocked to learn how bad the situation truly was. His goal is not to get the Caf back to where it was before it got a C. His goal is to improve it far beyond that. However the only way he can do this is through our feedback. The vague complaints of "the food isn't fresh enough" or "I feel sick after eating in the Caf" are not enough. He wants clear precise feedback that he can actually do something with. Sometime in the near future a feedback form will be sent out, and I implore each of you to fill it out as thoroughly as possible.
More will be shared about what's changing in the Caf very soon and I hope you will all be as happy with these changes as I am!
