We have to get Congress to to repeal this terrible assault on our freedoms!! This legislation was passed in 2001 when the entire country was traumatized by September 11th.

 I was in my early twenties at the time and not paying attention, and I honestly fell for the notion that the “Patriot” euphemism in the name meant that it was for defending our country against terrorism. 

Yes, it has taken me a while to wake up. The government has been not even trying to hide the fact that they are spying, censoring, doing illegal surveillance and searches, law-fare, etc .

I am a teacher in Chicago (planning to move to soon I hope). I have never done anything like this before, but the government is getting more aggressive and tyrannical to people who are not on their team it seems. Repealing this bill ASAP will provide at least some protection for all Americans.
