The Montana High School Association will continue to stubbornly enforce the anti-family rule despite their own survey results that showed almost every golf course manager in Montana is against it.
In a landslide vote, the course managers in Montana (those that host the high school tournaments) voted 31 out of 34 to overturn the rule.
In response, Brian Michelotti, the assistant director of the MHSA reaffirmed that the high school association will NOT allow parents to watch their kids play. However, he said, the MHSA will continue to work hard with course managers to explore ways to open up more spectator areas.
This last statement makes absolutely no sense--the course managers already voted to open up full access.
What Michelotti should have said was: "The MHSA will work hard to shut down the access that course managers just voted parents should have."
