CBS in Bozeman (KBZK) just did a major two-part feature on the bad golf rule in Montana. It aired last night and the previous night. Signatures for the petition have more than doubled since then and they are still climbing! New signatures include Leslie Spalding. She is the most recent Montanan to play in the LPGA and is the current head coach at San Diego State University. Also, Shaun Micheel signed. He is the 2003 PGA Champion. When he first saw the news story, Shaun thought it was a hoax. After he confirmed it was true, he signed the petition and tweeted multiple times about how unfair this rule is. Wow! Even with such a powerful public display of disapproval for this rule, the people responsible for keeping this rule alive still say they aren't going to budge. I suppose that's because these athletic directors and their high school coaches have remained nameless and are therefore personally insulated from the kids and families they are hurting. If anyone has any ideas how to help change this situation, please let me know. Perhaps posting a list of all the athletic directors and high school golf coaches in the state with a check box of how they voted on this issue? Let me know. Thanks.
