This week the Court stopped the Army Corps from destroying the Bicentennial Mural until the case can go to trial. That could take some time, so our work to save the mural continues. But Mural supporters have a bigger question now. If it's not the intention of the Corps to replace the Mural for some unknown competing interests, will they now start working with, instead of against the Public and their elected representatives, to see the Mural restored? We just heard the Corps is setting up yet another committee to replace the Bicentennial Mural with one of their own design. How can the Corps in good faith justify this when their own attorney said in Federal court, they recognize the public wants the Bicentennial mural on the spillway! The Public rejects these unending schemes to destroy the Mural. There is a new commander of the LA Army Corps of engineers. Col. Kirk Gibbs. Their former commander told us "Your message is passionate and clear". The Public looks forward to hearing from Col.
