Reopen the Railway Line from Stoke-on-Trent to Alton Towers and Leek

The Issue

This Railway would create jobs and boost the economy for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire cutting down on Traffic volumes towards Alton Towers and Leek and would also provide a better transport service.

Having this service up and running would make journey times a lot quicker than going by bus or car and would generate lots of income it would also create job opportunities across North Staffordshire.

The Churnet Valley Railway (CVR) currently operates a 10-mile heritage railway between Froghall and Ipstones.

The railway if reinstated would run from Stoke-on-Trent to Alton Towers and Leek and would not only be a good passenger train service for the local communities but it would take the strain off the local roads helping to create more jobs and boost the tourism in Leek and the surrounding areas.

Having this service reconnected back up with Alton Towers and Leek would be a really useful service.
Stoke-on-Trent has dangerous levels of Nitrogen Dioxide and by having an integrated transport link it would help reduce the levels of Nitrogen Dioxide with the Stoke-on-Trent area.
