Thanks to everyone so far who has signed the petition, please keep sharing with colleagues and friends alike. 

It's possibly going to get a mention in The Argus this week or next. I think it's no harm to highlight this issue more widely. 

We have a wonderful facility in the Louth hospital and we serve a large number of patients and visitors every day.

Many of our patients and visitors are elderly, wheelchair bound, pregnant or presenting with an injury. They may be attending a clinic or for bloods, physio, radiology etc. Many travel quite a distance and may be fasting ( in the case of Ultrasound , theatre or bloods).

To be able to get a tea , coffee, snack or newspaper is hardly too much to ask I feel in a public facility of this calibre. 

Im afraid that if we don't fight this now, it will lead to lack of interest and investment in the future of the hospital. It's the principle of reinstating it which is also very important. 

We need to ensure our wonderful facility retains as many of its great services as possible for the future of the people of Dundalk and surrounding areas.
