Part-Time Wishy-Washy Free Access

Good evening everyone, hope you're enjoying this lovely spring-like weather. As you may know (and may have attended), sections of the palace gardens were open for free access to the public over the weekend. I'm sure many residents and families had a wonderful time exploring the gardens albeit not in their entirety. I'm sure Historic Royal Palaces were very content with the money bought in through catering and retail alone. This little "incentive" alone has the potential to generate over £1000 in revenue, and this is merely a drop in the ocean! But this is nowhere near good enough! And is far worse than the deal set with Kevin Clayton in 2016.
For a bit of perspective, NO free access to the Maze and Magic Garden. National lottery ticket holders will get 10% of retail and catering etc. As I say, this isn't good enough, the premise of our petition is to reinstate free access to the gardens all year round. I encourage everyone to keep sharing our petition to re-open the beautiful gardens in their entirety all year round. We want to keep working productively and collaboratively with Historic Royal Palaces to rectify this issue. If threats of a 12.5% surcharge to jump in the car and go shopping in Kingston and Richmond are set to come to pass, then all the more reason for Elmbridge residents to enjoy the tranquillity and respite in our own back garden!
In the meantime, please watch out for our leaflets which are proving very insightful locally.
There's still much to do, and much media attention locally. Thank you as always for your brilliant help and support.
Kind regards,
Patrick Wylde
