I'm sorry folks but they are not going to stop the event. But, I do have faith that we have reached some people and that in the future we will have stopped those potential events.
Here is there statement and my reply. I wish I was better with words. I'm sorry.
Mrs Cottrell:
I respect the fact that you are so diligent about protecting these animals. I want to assure you that no harm will be made to these donkeys. We chose the company we did because of their reputation of taking such good care of their animal.
You will clearly see that their animals are fed. We will be meeting them at 2:00 to help clean the trailer the animals ride in.
We have documentation from Buckeyes vet showing each animals regular visits & constant care.
We will not be canceling our show. We firmly believe in reaching out students to stand up for what they believe in & today that is providing a positive civic event for our community!
I'm sorry you do not agree with what we have going on but as my mom used to tell me "not everything can be made your business. Not everyone thinks exactly like you do!"
Thank you for voicing your concerns but we will not be reading any further correspondence!
Have a great day ma'am!
Sincerely,
Tricia Dotson

Thank you very much for your response to my request. It is a very sad day that you do not understand how agonizing this is for the donkeys. If you could only imagine why they're pulling away and why their breying all the time, it's because they're scared. Just imagine this happening to your kids and you would be telling those folks to leave them alone. As my husband says most of the civilized world does not believe the way you do. I pray that no one gets kicked or bitten or that the donkeys don't break their legs on the slick court. You have a good day ma'am. I hope you can live with yourself.
