The Office of Local Government (OLG) knocked back the Public Private funding proposal for the Kempsey Central cinema complex due to assessing the independent accountant’s report that highlighted many reasons of NOT being viable, and a massive cost risk to the community. Kempsey Shire Council are now gifting $2 MILLION to the developers. These developers are multi-million dollar companies! So I ask WHY are we funding them, creating more assets to their complex.....? Also not to mention the cost we will spend for a out of town company to manage it regardless if the doors are open or not. I ask all Kempsey Shire residents to really look at the proposal. I know there are better and more cost effective ways to obtain a cinema for Kempsey that won’t cost the money that council are going to throw away. Now is the time to have your say.
