WE DID IT!!

Today the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority voted unanimously, 6-0, to begin the process of renaming BNA in honor of Dolly Parton!

We started this petition back in January 2025 as two Nashville residents who just wanted to see our hometown legend get the recognition she deserved. We never imagined it would become a movement that reached every corner of the world, and we never imagined we'd be sharing this update without Dolly here in person to celebrate it with us. But somewhere, in the butterflies and the wildflowers, we like to think she's smiling.

What gets us most is how this happened. This campaign brought together a Republican governor, a Republican state lawmaker, Nashville's Democratic mayor, and Metro Council — people who don't agree on much these days — all standing on the same side of this issue. That's Dolly's magic. 

The precise name hasn't been decided yet, that's the next step, and we'll be right here cheering it on and keeping you posted. But today's vote is the moment. It's the moment 175,000+ of you made happen.

To every single person who signed, shared, commented, called an office, or told a friend why this mattered: thank you. This was never about us. It was about honoring a woman who taught millions of us how to care more, be more, and dream more. You did that. WE did that. Together.
