Jermaine "Manny" Goffigan was fatally shot in Roxbury’s Academy Homes housing development,  as he returned home after a Halloween Party on his ninth birthday in 1994. The Friends of Marcella Park, Jermaine Goffigan Peace and Healing and Boston Ten Point Coalition are asking that the City of Boston rename the recently renovated Marcella Park to honor Jermaine Goffigan called Jermaine "Manny" Goffigan park. The park will celebrate the life of Jermaine Goffigan while encouraging children and families to build health and wellness through play in a safe environment.
