Hi Everyone.
I'm very conscious not to bombard you with updates, but things are moving along better than anticipated.
Firstly, a big thanks to those of you that have reached out directly to offer support and kind words. There has been a bit that's happened in the background until now and it's great to see the community getting behind this.
I've spent some time researching the details of this undertaking, talking with groups that have done it before and compiling historical context as well as previous submissions to draw inspiration from. Happy to say that I have almost completed a draft proposal to council that I will share for comment through these updates (and the Facebook group) once it's ready. I welcome feedback to ensure we are leading with the front foot and give ourselves the best possible chance.
We seem to have slowed with the uptake of our petition over the last few days, so I have engaged a PR agency who have today sent media releases to the Geelong Advertiser & Geelong Times in the hope we can get some media coverage and a wider take up. Let's see how we go!
We also have an email address now for feedback and comments: queensparksuburb@gmail.com
I can't close without commenting on the great result for the Cats over the weekend! But i'll leave it there for those that aren't supporters!
Thanks
Dan
