The school board vote for a new name will take place this Thursday, October 26th. Our advocacy should be strong beginning today and continuing through the night of the vote, when we should all come out in force at the school board meeting at Luther Jackson Middle School at 7pm. This is what you can do between now and then: 1. Write the school board members, individually, and encourage all of your friends and neighbors to do the same, to express A) your opposition to the name Stuart, B) your support that they choose a new name that honors a person of color or a woman, and C) your insistence that they choose the new name October 26 (no delay!).
