Petition Submitted – A Huge Step Forward 💛

We wanted to provide an update and thank every single person who has signed, shared and supported our petition.

The support has been incredible. We have now reached over 1,400 supporters online, alongside a substantial number of paper signatures collected from local residents. We are still receiving more signed sheets every day.

We have now formally submitted our petition to Doncaster Council requesting that Ferry Boat Wharf Footbridge be renamed "Kenzie's Bridge" and that a permanent yellow memorial be created in Mackenzie's memory.

We have spent a great deal of time in Mexborough speaking directly with residents, businesses and visitors to the bridge. The response from the local community has been overwhelmingly positive, and many people have told us they would like to see a lasting tribute created for Mackenzie.

We are encouraged to have already received messages of support from those involved in the process, including confirmation that discussions will be taking place with the Council in the coming week regarding the proposal.

Whilst we understand that local support is especially important, it has been incredibly moving to see people from across the country stand with our family and support this campaign. Every signature, share and message of support means more than we can put into words.

This campaign is continuing to grow, and we will keep everyone updated as we hear more.
