I recently appeared on Forging Metal, a fantastic BBC podcast about the origins of heavy metal, you can listen back here.
I don't think the BBC would have commissioned a series like that as recently as a couple of years ago, so it shows how far Birmingham has come in a short space of time with regards to finally embracing our heavy metal heritage.
That's why it is so important that we embrace this moment and rename the airport after our most famous son, Ozzy Osbourne. More updates soon, but in the meantime you can help the campaign by can sharing our latest Instagram post here.

I stumbled across this article about Snoopy Airport in California - aka Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport. The article notes ‘the airport has just experienced its fifth straight year of growth. It’s the only Bay Area airport that has eclipsed its pre-pandemic traffic levels’ And it is the only Bay Area airport that’s named after anyone. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions on that!
