As a devoted fan of the Cleveland Guardians, it pains me to see a statue of Jim Thome standing in Progressive Field while he openly cheers against the Guardians .. His actions feel like a betrayal to the team he once represented and this has stirred a deep sense of disappointment.

Jim Thome’s  lack of loyalty poses a serious question about the validity of honoring him with a statue. Tear down the statute and put a Jose Ramirez bobblehead there for all i care The statue stands as a tribute in Progressive Field, a sacred place for Cleveland fans. Many of us feel that it is inappropriate and misleading to continue displaying a monument dedicated to someone who does not reflect the values of our community or the solidarity we uphold.

we should reconsider who we choose to honor in public spaces. The integrity of our team and the moral support of our fanbase deserve recognition above all. Let's replace the statue with a player who has shown true commitment and passion for our franchise—someone who will always be seen as a Guardian.
