Washington, DC – Duvalier Malone, Mississippi native, and other supporters will be holding a rally calling on state legislators to remove the Confederate emblem from the state flag. Malone grew up in Mississippi, and has watched tragedies like Charleston unfold frequently. After 9 people were killed at the Mother Emanuel Church by Dylann Roof, who had been photographed posing with confederate symbols, Malone decided to take action. One week after starting his petition, Malone has close to 5,000 signatures. He and his supporters will be rallying outside of the Mississippi Capitol on Sunday.
