According to government data, currently, there are over 60,000 registered sex offenders living in communities across the ireland , posing potential risks to vulnerable members of society. In our specific area, we have seen a decline in the number of children playing outside, and parents have become increasingly hesitant to let their kids walk to school alone or play in local parks. This is not how our community should be.
The presence of a paedophile nearby creates a dangerous environment where parents feel they must constantly be on guard, robbing our children of the carefree childhood they deserve. The trauma and fear that permeates our community is a burden no family should have to bear, and it is a preventable one. We have an opportunity to stand together and demand a safer environment for our children and ourselves.
