I can not thank you all enough for the support on this. Now that my own court case has concluded I was able to push to get the meeting arranged for the soonest possible meeting so I will be going to stormont in march before the department of justice to discuss the failings in our laws and hopefully to get the 6 month cap removed securing a safer and more worthwhile future for people experiencing and reporting DV. Fingers crossed it can reach historical cases to. I know first hand how diminished I felt hearing I couldn't have the common assault and battery charge due to the 6 month limitations and that alone could have significantly changed the outcome of my case. Here's hoping going forward it's a different more positive outcome for DV survivors. 💜
