200 motivated residents - how to address ALPRs

200 is a lot of people.

I would like to thank everyone who put their name down for this petition, and doubly so everyone that shared it to their friends, Romans, and countrymen. Every name on this petition is making a statement that the City Council and JSO cannot ignore. 

The next City Council meeting is at City Hall, on Tuesday, August 11th at 5 pm. I intend to bring this to their attention then. I would greatly appreciate anyone else who wishes to come. There is a food share across the street, and you can likely get a free snack before showing up to defend your privacy. (Or bring one of your own! Potluck rules.)

If you cannot make it, I would urge you to share this petition, write a comment or record a video about your experiences or concerns about ALPRs, call Sheriff TK Waters at 9046302120 or contact your local council member (who can be found here) about your concerns. Probably also worth it to call the mayor, Donna Deegan, at 9042555000.

You can and should request an ordinance restricting or preferably banning ALPRs. The city council of Jacksonville is required to note every single message you send, even if they would prefer not to. 

This petition is only one angle of attack - I urge you to seek more.  But we're doing a pretty good job so far.
