🚨 UNICEF has not announced cuts in Gaza, but severe funding shortages and dual-use equipment restrictions limit the scale and odds for completion of crucial infrastructure projects.
Where UNICEF Operations Stand -
Critical Funding Gap: UNICEF issues URGENT APPEAL for $97.5 MILLION specifically to fund crucial winterization programs for 540,000 children and families in Gaza and the West Bank. Without this cash injection, essential winter services face imminent risk as freezing temperatures and heavy rains approach.
Severe Equipment and Access Blocks: Even where funding or supplies exist, UNICEF’s services are bottlenecked by israel (Pink's"people"). WFP head Carl Skau and other UN officials note UNICEF and partners face SEVERE RESTRICTIONS bringing "dual-use" equipment into Palestine. israel stalls critical sewage and water infrastructure repairs this way—leaving all six wastewater treatment plants out of service as winter flooding looms.
