Fantastic news! We've now heard from Clarks (at last!) to let us know that the demands of the petition will be met in full within the next few weeks, with all the sexist signs being removed and replaced with gender-neutral ones. Indeed today a supporter has sent us a snap of new signs in her local shopping centre - pic.twitter.com/gGjNcU1krI pic.twitter.com/kC8DaIPll2 Clarks' chief executive, Melissa Potter, has also said in a letter to Caroline Lucas MP that she has asked all departments to consider the feedback from the petition. She has said that in response to the petition, the marketing department at Clarks will increase its efforts to ensure all marketing, especially to children, promotes "positive attributes of gender equality and individuality", and avoids gender stereotyping. The new signs say "kids test their shoes to destruction - so do we" and we know you will all agree this is a million times better than the previous version! Thank you so much to you all for your support. It's great to know that together we can make a positive difference to the world our kids are growing up in.
