Today, the UN Economic and Social Council finally voted to oust Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women by a vote of 29-8! Thank you all so much for signing the petition, supporting the cause, and helping to make sure the media and public attention stayed focused on getting Iran off the commission! Together, nearly 177,000 of us sent the world a message that if you abuse human rights and women's rights in your own country, you cannot get away with pretending to care about those rights on the global stage.
