Consent and accountability

The Coyote Chronicle posted an update saying they won’t remove the article and quoted me from an email I sent in response to them without my permission. I’m starting to see that not asking permission is a pattern for them. In the original article I made a petition about, they used a student’s first and last name in a quote without their permission, which I specifically brought to their attention. Funny how that part was left out of their update. There’s still no formal apology for the damage they’ve caused. This was my first impression of the news outlet, and moving forward, I’ll remember the lack of consideration they’ve shown their students. Shame on the staff for claiming to uphold ethics while overlooking basic consent.
