“Nice tits”, “nice ass”, “She takes it up the arse”, “I'd like to cum on her face”, “Our last act is a n*****”.

These are just some of the remarks that have been made on stage by Irish comedy promoter and M.C., Gerry Mallon, about comedians taking part in competitions to perform at the Electric Picnic and the Forbidden Fruit festivals. He also makes homophobic comments, recently referring to hockey as a “fag sport”.

Not only does Gerry Mallon run and M.C. the competitions to perform at the festivals, he is involved in running the comedy stages at these festivals.

Clearly Gerry Mallon is unfit for these roles. His remarks are not only unprofessional, they are misogynistic, racist, homophobic and degrading.

We plan to present this petition to the organisers of the Electric Picnic and the Forbidden Fruit, as well as to their sponsors, namely Bulmers, and request that Gerry Mallon be replaced with a promoter and M.C. who will behave in the kind of professional manner that the role requires.
