Mike Miles and Mike Morath are cut from the same cloth. The Commissioner of Education came to Houston to visit schools but told no one except for the press in a late email the day before.

Prior to the takeover, on several occasions the commissioner has avoided interacting with the HISD parents, community, and staff. This is just one more example of him trying to avoid the backlash from this takeover.
