Remove CPMS clamping in Kilcarbery Grange, Clondalkin
The Issue
I am a resident of Kilcarbery Grange in Clondalkin, and like many others in our community, I face daily challenges due to the parking situation here. The problem is not just inconvenient; it's distressing. We are losing precious time and energy trying to find parking spots where there simply are not enough. With no alternative but to park on paths and other non-designated areas, we often find our vehicles clamped by CPMS, a private clamping company currently operating in our area.
This situation is not only unfair but unnecessary. As residents, we should not be penalized for lack of options, nor should our hard-earned money be used to pay unreasonable clamping fines. CPMS's presence does not solve the parking issue—it exacerbates it by punishing residents who are already struggling with insufficient parking facilities. This also includes residents who have visitors.
We are proposing the removal of CPMS from Kilcarbery Grange and seeking alternative solutions that will genuinely address the parking crisis rather than merely profit from it, for example, numbered parking.
One viable solution could be the construction of additional parking facilities which would cater to the needs of our growing community. We also suggest an open discussion with residents on how best to proceed.
By investing in infrastructure and fair policy changes, we can ensure that residents are no longer punished for circumstances beyond their control.
This issue cannot be ignored any longer. We urge our local council to listen to its residents and act in our best interests by removing CPMS from operations in Kilcarbery Grange. We deserve a fair and practical solution to our parking problems.
Please sign this petition to show your support for our community and help us bring about change. Together, we can make our voices heard and push for a parking system that is just and effective.
