"The harshest censorship is self-censorship. And it doesn’t always come from the big bad studio either." - Quentin Tarantino

I would like to thank you all for the incredible amount of support. We recently hit over 400 signatures. I was hoping to resolve this quickly, but it seems Future Club is really dragging it out. They're hoping that it'll blow over. But we're resilient. We won't stop fighting for art. For what we know is correct. We just need to change our strategy.

Our first one, minor concessions. I'm willing to concede on the Fillia stuff. That really seems to be a sticking point with some people, so I'm willing to concede if only to garner more support against the other censorship. Previously, my only concession was the Soviet Announcer, who I suggested to be recast rather than reinstated. This may be a controversial decision, but I am at least willing to listen to any comments about this decision. Now, for our other strategies.

Since we hit 300 signatures in late July, I've been emailing the three major companies behind Skullgirls, Hidden Variable, Autumn Games, and Future Club, as well as several high up members of Future Club weekly. The email contains a nice, but strongly worded call to action and a link to this petition. I have not received a response from anyone since then. They said they wouldn't discuss it further in the original tweet, and they seem to be keeping to their word. Their main strategy is to pretend it never happened, stick their fingers in their ears, silence all criticism, and wait for it to blow over. Because nobody cares.

That's been my greatest fear since starting the petition. Skullgirls is much smaller than other fighting games, and admittedly, it's past its prime. Large names who could have lent their voices have either capitulated, or refuse to. My fear is that people don't care enough to rally the public against this decision. I hope to be proven wrong.

That's why I'm suggesting a change of strategy. and I'm asking for help from you guys, for helpful suggestions to uncensor the game. To make our voices heard. Noting violent, and nothing invasive, But I would like to hear your suggestions.

Finally, a reminder why we're here.

I've mentioned The French Connection previously, but this truly shows why we must fight against any and all censorship. Even if the material is "Problematic". Without that problematic material, the film would ironically age worse. Becoming an uncritical view of policing. I'm so disappointed with what feels like a wave of censorship being brought to us. We must fight back. We will make our voices be heard, and we must win. And if we all work together, we will make the game as it was before the Marie update.
