Over 500 children were molested and/or raped during his tenure as Archbishop of Los Angeles. ALL of these crimes happened under his watch and he was aware of each and every act of the abuser priests.
 
He and his top aide at the time, Bishop Curry enabled the molesters and shielded them from the authorities.
